I would ... like to apologze, Lady Irene, for my demeanor the other night. I've been ... well, not quite myself, lately, and ... no, no excuses, I was condescending and harsh. You are right, there are probably very many things about the situation that I do not know.
This is not to say that I agree with your views. I simply felt I should not simply leave things as they were ... forgive me. And if you will not, at least you've heard what I had to say.
