HISTORY ;;

Celeste is the youngest child of Roivas and Eria, the Lord and Lady of House Franel. She and her two older brothers, Kail and Lawrence, grew up under a prophecy that they would be brought to the light, but it was nothing that ever affected her life until very recently.

Intelligent by nature, Celeste was always very fond of books and lessons for the sake of learning. Keagan, a middle-aged knight of Franel and something of an uncle figure to her, took it upon herself to cultivate her thirst for knowledge when she was very young. Her passion for her studies and amount of time she spent reading always baffled and impressed those around her. Studies of concrete subjects such as History or Mathematics were somethng she understand the importance of, but her real interest laid in more abstract mental pursuits. She was rarely seen without a novel in her hand from when she was very young.

Celeste has never had any sort of political or military training, since, with two older brothers, the odds of her ever needing to play a part in Franel's management have always been slim to none. Even her proficiency in staves came from an expressed interest and an admiration from her childhood best friend, Lady Felicia of Mansoure.

More than a year ago, Celeste awakened in an isolated inn she had never seen before in the southern areas of Korin, where the innkeeper fully remembered her paying her bill the night before, and her journal seemed enchanted. Through the people she met there, she realized that her brothers were in similar situations in other parts of the world -- and no one, even those who should have, recognized their names or titles. She began by dealing with the siutation rationally, but inside of her, a panic rose, and she slowly began falling to pieces, although she still tried to maintain her focused and serious face. It was a to her fortune that the journals brought the young noblewoman/pegasus knight messenger Lauren to the city where she had awakened. Celeste became very fast friends with young Lauren, who stayed staunchly at her side since, even at the cost of her relationship with her older and younger sister. Accompanied by Keagan, who found himself in a similar siutation near her, Lauren, the Hanalan archers Hart, Loki, and Irving, and the Kilian mage Jonathan, as well as the retainer sent to watch Lauren, Sir Zacharias, she travelled back to Franel.

She was shocked the find her home still standing, but not only completely abandonned, seemingly invisible to all but her family and their remaining retainers. She lost herself in the delusion that it was still there and fine, until Lauren pulled her from her depression, and she came out a stronger person. She, Lauren, Zacharias, Jonathan, and the others in their company then stayed in Emeron City after meeting up with Kail and his sworn knight Sawyer, waiting for Lawrence and the knight Faith to reach them. After the three siblings were reunited, they once again embarked to Franel.

It was the same as ever, but this time, Celeste hold on to herself, as Lawrence was there to lean on. She was, however, distressed greatly by a bandit scuffle that took place there, discovering how much she loathed battle for the first time. About this time, it came out that the dark ghosts inhabiting the journals were people they knew, perhaps their friends, their own families.

After Lawrence studied the situation, it was decided that the best course of action was to visit the place where the prophecy which must be linked to this all began, Lucre, the city of light. After a long journey, the siblings and those who now followed them reached Lucre, where they found only questions and no answers. Strange dreams, odd feelings, inexplainable sights, and, most shocking, a medium clawing her face until she bled, shreiking that they were ghosts. The original medium was nowhere to be found, until help from the Guardians of the Altar found her in Papan convent, the mysterious Sister Ruth.

Ruth finally provided some answers. She remembered the siblings. They did exist. Their parents were all but certainly dead. And they still had a very long journey ahead ...

After a brief respite in Papan, the heirs to Franel once again left in pursuit of answers to this situation. This time, to the corrupt mercantile country of Kanemoria, where the visions two full moons gave Lawrence lead them.

Almost immeadiately, the country began exacting strange effects on Kail. He saw things that didn't exist, heard voices, was visited with visions. In the city of Mileia, they discovered a note concealed beneath the ground, written cryptically in an ancient form of Kilian. Following a hunch of Kail's, from there they travelled to the city of Norey. Wracked with storms that seemed summoned by their arrival, Norey fell into chaos as they watched Kail do the same. On the morning after night the storm climaxed, Celeste, Lawrence, and those who followed them awakened to find Kail missing.

In search of their brother, they moved into the mountain range, following the path of the storm. The climb was long and hard, and at the top, they did find Kail ... and a mysterious sword that caused the brothers to fight and Celeste to feel as if her world were shattering so long as it was unsheathed. Carrying the sword with them, and an uneasy feeling in their hearts, they set out for the next stop on their journey, the desert land of Atsiria.

Along the way, however, Celeste's world complicated even more. Over the time she had spent away from her home, Celeste had felt stirrings of romantic feelings for those who supported her: Zacharias, Jonathan, Lauren ... but none were as real or as strong as those she found herself developping for Jace, the Kanemorian thief who antagonized her far more often than he supported her. Their rocky friendship culminated, when in the midst of a heated argument, they suddenly found themselves sleeping together. They began a hesitant romance.

After a long wait in Razen, something finally happened, but it was nothing that the group had ever thought. Lawrence was accused by Prince Reeve and the Atsirian Council as the murderer of the former King Thanes. He and his retainer Faith were both sentanced to death, and Celeste fell apart in the face of losing the most important person in her life.

At the last moment, Lawrence and Faith were rescued by the Prophet of the Goddessess, Melyndra, and her protege/surrogate daughter Karlesta. Melyndra claimed to know exactly why Lawrence was in Atsiria, and she began to lead them across the desert to find whatever it was they were looking for ...

PERSONALITY ;;

Celeste is serious, studious, and quiet. She's also very proper and has ideas of how things should work, and is very easily offended. She becomes somewhat haughty when scandalized. She's self-righteous and self-rationionalizing, believing it her duty to enforce her morla standards on her friends and family.

Despite this, she's not a stick in the mud. Lawrence has always known how to make her laugh, she loves passionately and deeply, she reacts as any young girl does when greeted with sweets or a field of flowers, and a good story can always move her heart.

Celeste thrives on familiarity and constancy. What she is used to becomes what she loves, and threats against the stability of her world deeply affect her.

Celeste is incredibly manipulative. While she's too ashamed to ask for anything outright -- unless extremely angry or heartbroken -- she seeks to control the actions of others through subtle hints and playing their thoughts and emotions to her wishes. While this has proved universally successful for her in the past, Jace's refusal to play her games along with Lawrence's recent revelations into her selfish nature have robbed her of a bit of this power, which she finds not only frustrating, but frightening.

She's close with her siblings, especially Lawrence, who she considers the most important and meaningful person in her world.

APPEARANCE ;;

Celeste has long, flowing blonde hair, and violet eyes. As a young girl, shewas unusually small in stature and frame for a northern Dentorian, to the point where he brothers and retainers took to light-heartedly teasing her for being a changling. However, within the past year, she's sprouted greatly, reaching above average height for a woman and filling out her petit frame. She tends to dress in white.
